We have a 4410n wireless n access point we are using for testing. Have a time getting it to power up with POE and a 3550 switch. I have disabled cpd and spanning tree. Only way to get the AP to power up is remove power from ether port and use DC adaptor for ap. After is have been running, I can remove dc power adaptor. Should this work over the poe and not have to use the dc adaptor?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) support makes the access point easy to install - you can mount it anywhere, even without ready access to a power plug. With appropriate PoE support at the other end, you need to run only one cable to the access point to deliver both data and power. Of course, you can also use the included AC adapter if power is available nearby.
