Hi Expert,

I want to upgrade ASR-9904 from 6.0.2 (MD) to 6.1.4 (MD). I have CSM installed.

The devices are not fully production yet and I can have a downtime. I just want to follow a easy upgrade process.

Any link or advice? I was looking at this and could not find anything for 6.1.4

Hi

If you have CSM installed and it's ready for use i recommend using that.

If not, its quite an easy task to only upgrade one box also.

1. Download pie and smus for 6.1.4 that you want and create a tar file from them

2. Copy tar file to asr9k

3. run admin install add tar yourfile.tar sync

4. Make sure that you have fpd auto-upgrade configured under admin config.

5. To activate the files in the tar file run admin install activate asr9k*6.1.4*. This will reboot the box and install new software and fpd.

6. When the 9k is up and running again and if everything looks ok run admin install commit.

Hi,

please note that fpd auto-upgrade should be disabled when you are running 6.x.

Check out this link

Thank you.

I have the CSM2.0 installed on a windows server. Looks like it is not getting to Cisco anymore to retrieve the SMUs. Proxy is working fine. Not sure if Cisco support the CSM2.0 anymore?

CSM v2.0 (Java client application) is an End-of-Life product. You probably still be able to browse the SMU list but download is no longer working as changes were made to the back-end server:

Customers are advised to migrate to CSM Server. The latest release is version 3.5:

There are Linux based OVA available for download also:

Hi,

Please go with CSM 3.4 (Linux only). This one is working great!

Edit:
Jawei was faster. There is already 3.5 out.

Can you please check out this thread? I see that there is an inventory option but I do not have it on 3.4

It says that it's a licensed feature but I do not know how to acquire this license.

@smailmilak Inventory menu bar is not available for selection in CSM Server versions 3.4 and 3.5, which do not have features that require special licenses. Inventory management remains in the beta test. The PDF file under "Help" can be useful for beta users. If you are interested in becoming a beta user, please email cs-software-manager@cisco.com. It will be determined after some reviews. Best, -James
