Upgrade CUCM 4.x to CUCM 7.1 parallel

Hi,

I planned upgrade from CUCM 4.X to CUCM 7.1 parallel.

The plan is to import the cucm 4.x database in cucm 4.x.

Systems running fully separate.

I'm looking for procedure how I get the database 4.x in 7.1

You need to use the DMA tool, you may download that from the voice SW download page on CCO

Need I install the DMA tool on the new server 7.1.

Or install Callmanager 7.1 first and then install DMA tool.

The Servers CUCM are separate, old CUCM 4.X and new CUCM 7.1

I read the document means I must DMA on CUCM 4.X

I do export Data.

Where is the Data located on the server self??

Can I the exported Data copy via FTP to the new CUCM 7.1(3)

The DMA will give you a .tar file, (you specify the location), and when installing the 7.1x server you are asked if you are upgrading or migrating from a windows system, you need to choose that option and then the system will ask you an SFTP/FTP location to pull the .tar file from.

I recommend you to read the entire doc and related docs that are suggested on it, so you can understand the process before doing it.
