GoUCS Error: "UCSM is not available on secondary node"

I am getting the following error

D:\goucs\session>goucs ucsxxxx login

UCSM is not available on secondary node

We are using the self-signed certs that Cisco generates since everything is internal. All the self-signed certs have their DNS Names as the Node A name.

But if the node A is not the primary node in UCSM, it appears I cannot get login to it with goUCS.

Anyway ideas on how to work around this / resolve this issue?

Thanks!
NEVILLE GEORGE

Hello George,

I received the following reply from one of our engineers:

Is this request associated with a TAC Service Request? If so, make sure you post the SR # in the thread.

It sounds like the goucs is pointing to the secondary Fabric Interconnect. If you attempt to log into UCS Manager through the secondary FI, then this is the expected result. Ideally, it should use the domain name of the Virtual IP which automatically uses the primary FI to log in.

Have you tried using the Virtual IP to access UCSM?

Please let me know if this helps with your situation.

I was receiving this same error and for some reason, the UCSM pointed over to the secondary IP for some reason.  Reinstalled UCSM from the vip and it is working again.  Try pointing to the vip and see if that makes a difference.
