PCM through CUCM

Hello,

I'm using CUCM 9.1.

The scenario: I'm making a call from my application to a Cisco IP Communicator and only testing the audio coming from my microphone and listening on the IP Communicator.

The problem is, that when I'm using PCM 16bit 8000Hz format I only hear loud noise, however if I use MuLaw encoding it all sound ok. In the TapiDevGuide it says that Cisco supports both formats as long as they are 16bit 8000Hz.

Is this true?

Hi Denes,

I think you can only play record wave files on CUCM  "CTI Ports". 16-bit PCM at 8000Hz format is supported by the TAPI Wave Driver.  Route points and station lines do not support "wave/in" and "wave/out".

Thanks and Regards,

Geevarghese
