I am doing inventory management of Cisco IP Phones. I faced a problem while updating Cisco IP Phones if the IP Address of the phone got changed and assigned to some other device.
Is it safer to overwrite the devices based on SerialNumber/Mac Address of a device.
Is MacAddress/Serial Number unique across the devices. So that i can update existing device based on SerialNumber/Mac Address.
I have the phone models as CP-7940G
Am using http://<Device_IP>/DeviceInformationX to get the hardware details.
