Cisco SocialMiner Cannot be accessed from Public Link

Hi,

I am trying to setup SocialMiner in the public link, however it failed as when i tried to access it, the result page doesn't show anything, and it threw the javascript console (mixed content error)

Mixed Content: The page at 'https://MYDOMAIN.COM/results.jsp' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure script 'http://MYDOMAIN/js/3rdparty/jquery.cookie.js'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

core:rpc:shindig-container.js?c=1&debug=1:6265

STRANGE thing is, i am able to access it from the intranet with the local IP Address. (no issues at all!).

After i observed it, i found that there is a difference in the javascript url registered in the DOM element.

In the intranet it uses this url : https://192.168.1.x/js/3rdparty/jquery.cookie.js

While in the internet, it uses this url : http://MYDOMAIN/js/3rdparty/jquery.cookie.js

(NON SSL). And this what caused the error.

Does anyone know why such strange behaviour occur? And how to solve this problem? As Cisco SocialMiner is mandated to use SSL, i believe all the references/static files references have to be in SSL also to avoid this mixed content issue.

thanks,

Edward

Hi Edward,

Since you are able to get the page loaded in intranet . This issue could be sometimes because of domain resolution problem.  Request to use the Public URL Prefix for Chat Invitation tool to configure the customer-accessible URL.  Also make sure you validate as per this Wiki page

Thanks and Regards,
