Dear All,
I want to upgrade from CUCM 7.1(5) to CUCM 11.x using MCS 7816-I4? Is it enough hardware specs to upgrade? Help please.
I have to add more ext. licenses on existing scenario.
Regards,
Syed

Here is the now-ancient UCM / MCS 7800 compatibility matrix: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/7800-series-media-convergence-servers/prod_brochure0900aecd8062a4f9.html
Newest UCM version that can run on MCS 7816-I4 is 9.1(2) and you probably would need a physical RAM upgrade, but you can’t buy the physical RAM anymore from Cisco or IBM as the required parts are over 7 years old.
7816-I4 is also past End of HW maintenance and TAC support ends next Dec<http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/unified-communications/7800-series-media-convergence-servers/end_of_life_notice_c51-676975.html> so time to change HW.
If you set up a virtualized environment like BE6000 or BE7000 with R-VMW-UC-FND5-K9 or higher feature level license on VMware ESXi, you can use PCD Migration to get directly from 7.1.5 on MCS 7816-I4 to 11.0.1 on VM.

Hi Syed,
Since version 10.0, CUCM can only be installed on a virtualized platform. You should check the hardware compatibility tables for your specific hardware, but you're unlikely to be able to use that server for anything newer than v9.
More details on virtualisation requirements are available here: Unified Communications in a Virtualized Environment - DocWiki

Thank you Andy & appreciated. After installed to version 10.0, Shall I upgrade to v 11.x and should I use Collaboration PCD for required achievement?
