Managing locations via the web dashboard

Hi

Is there a means to manage locations via the web dashboard please?

I would like to add, edit and delete locations.

I can do this via the API, but on order to test what I am doing via the API, it would be helpful to also be able to use the dashboard.

Using the dashboard for locations would, I imagine, also be important in typical operational scenarios also.

Many thanks

Nathan

Hi Nathan,

Are you looking for the following section.location.jpg

Thanks. So the answer here is:

  1. Use Inventory->Layout-Custom to add Location as a column in the inventory display
  2. Click on "Add" for any given device, and see the Location management dialog
  3. From within the Location management dialog, one can add, delete, assign and remove locations

It works, but it is non obvious from the UI.

I'd like to suggest that location management be added under Settings, which is where one might reasonably expect to find it.

Regards

Nathan

Hi

The attached image shows the location dialog for a given device. I have added a location "Test", added a marker for it, and tried to set the coordinates. 20 minutes later, the "Set Coordinates" button is still revolving its circled arrows symbol.

What am I doing wrong here please?

Many thanks

Nathan

It's a bug, when your location LAT in S and LONG in W, the UI won't take it. Same thing happen when you are using API.

Thank you Yawming. This is a symptom of What is a valid geographicalAddress? then.
