Greetings,

We currently are in the process of replacing a faulty FI on our environment due to an partition corruption. We do have a replacement at this time so my question is, what will be the graceful way to shutdown the faulty FI from the Cluster? Currently the Faulty FI is set as subordinate and what Cisco told us is just power off by disconnecting the power cords. Any suggestion?

Use Fabric Evacuation feature if you have any blade servers or rack servers connected via FEX. If you have directly connected rack servers, you have to shutdown uplink and server ports on FI which will be replaced.

In mean time, during Fabric Evacuation/shutdowning ports, you can observer VIF paths if traffic is going via second FI.
