Cisco Non-Voice gadget in apache shindig open-social container?

We are trying to embed the Cisco non-voice gadget in any open social container like shindig, unlike any gadget non-voice is actually using cisco finesse environment heavily, So there is a problem if we try to run it in some other container than cisco Finesse like shindig.

let me draw a diagram to illustrate the problem.

Is it feasible/doable/am I crazy to think about it?

Or is there any better way to integrate the Cisco Non-voice functionality into third party containers?

Hi Rana,

Putting the Cisco gadgets in a third party container has not been tested so I do not know if it is feasible to do so. From this thread here: Setting finesse agent state for email/chat using APIs it doesn't seem like the REST APIs that are being used in the gadget are available publicly. So unfortunately, it doesn't seem like you can build your own gadget to accomplish the same thing.

What about if we replace

_prefs.getString("host")

relative path to static paths for the  non-voice gadget?

Hi Rana,

Since it hasn't been tested, I do not know if that change will work. If you make the changes and it works, then feel free to continue that route. But do know that if you run into issues, that issue would need to be reproduced in the Finesse container before it is debugged/supported.
