APIC-EM Appliance or VM: Etherchannels

Hi Team,

Etherchannels was introduced in version 1.3.3. Just double-checking before implementing for a customer if there are any caveats or reasons not to do etherchannels on the dedicated appliance in this case? Customer will be on 1.4.3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks,

Sean

NIC bonding was removed in 1.4.0 but is now available in 1.4.1 onwards.

Release Notes for Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller Enterprise Module, Release 1.4.0.x  - Cisco

The Cisco APIC-EM, Release 1.4.0.x does not support VLAN termination or Network Interface Card (NIC) bonding. If you are using Cisco APIC-EM, Release 1.3.3.x with these features, you cannot upgrade to Release 1.4.0.x.

Release Notes for Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller Enterprise Module, Release 1.4.1.x - Cisco

Review the following caveats when upgrading from these specific release versions:

  • If you are upgrading from release versions 1.3.2.37, 1.4.0.1959, or 1.3.3.126 (without NIC bonding configured), and you wish to upgrade and also configure NIC bonding, then you must first upgrade your Cisco APIC-EM and then run the configuration wizard to configure NIC bonding.
  • If you are upgrading from release version 1.3.3.126 and have already configured NIC bonding, then just upgrade to release 1.4.1.x. There is no need to run the configuration wizard again to reconfigure your NIC bonding.

Thanks Adam!
