Can you explain more what you’re trying to do and what’s this needed for? Don’t recall instance id is or used for

I'm trying to get renoval of the support of the licensing ISE ISE-VM-K9.

I already tried the SN number, but is not valid.

So, I need the instance number.

show udi via CLI

otherwise on the licensing page at the bottom this same info is listed

Hello, Janson,

I

I typed the commnad "show udi" and "show inventory", both commands list the same SN.

But, this SN is not valid under CISCO CSC.

So, I'm not able to renoval my license.

I tried the GUI interface under licensing options and the same SN.

Do you have other command?

BHZ-APP-ISE01/admin# sh inventory

NAME: "ISE-VM-K9 chassis", DESCR: "ISE-VM-K9          chassis"

PID: ISE-VM-K9         , VID: V01 , SN: GALHTLEUAJA

BHZ-APP-ISE02/admin# sh inventory

NAME: "ISE-VM-K9 chassis", DESCR: "ISE-VM-K9 chassis"

PID: ISE-VM-K9         , VID: V01 , SN: 8CNJDOEGFPB

  BHZ-APP-ISE03/admin#

This is all that’s used

Either you registered the wrong box or something is messed up with licensing

I assume you’re pulling this information from your administration node is that correct?

Only your administration nodes are licensed

If you’re still running shoe trouble please reach out to the licensing team

Hi Alexgamarano,

I have the same issue. Would you help advise how can I get the instance number for ISE VM ? I want to renew support service and Cisco service team asked me to provide instance number.

Best Regards,

An

Team I have the same issue, do you know how I can get the instance number?

Hi israel.gonzalez@voseda.com

did you send the Serial Number (or UDI SN) of the Primary PAN to the Cisco Service/License Team?

Note: you can check the Serial Number via:

CLI > show udi
CLI > show inventory
ISE GUI > Administration > System > Licensing

Hope this helps.

Yes I did however, I am renewing the support contract not the licenses and I have been told that they require the instance number instead, which we haven’t been able to find.

thanks

I work for a reseller and have a client who is running into this same issue. The Serial Numbers that display in Show UDI are generated when they deploy the device and not something that ties back to the original transaction. Since this was originally purchased through my firm, I have no visibility into the SO# or any other info on the original transaction.

It appears I need an instance number or the PAK key to pull up the renewal info, the serials don't do the trick.
