hi Jose ,

we doing EOL of 5508 by this month and 8.5 is the last release on these controllers ; WPA3 is planned for future release ; so 5508 will not support WPA3 .

Does WiSM2 supports WPA3 Protocol ?

No, it won't.

As per previous replies, only platforms that haven't gone end of life will get new features. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/compatibility/matrix/compatibility-matrix.html#pgfId-459971 shows all the platforms, if it's got something in the Last Support column, you're not getting anything.

Also, keep in mind that WPA3 is a certification which was only announced last week, and has not yet been made available.  So, even when the certification becomes available, it will take time for testing and verification for the interoperability between devices which become WPA3 certified.  It's uncertain at this time, given the limited amount of information publicly available, whether this will be a software only or a combination of software and hardware upgrades to conform to the certification.

Hi Boyers,

5508 will not support WPA3 ; WPA3 is planned for future .

What about 8510? Will 8510 support WPA3?

8510 is also EoL - https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/8500-series-wireless-controllers/eos-eol-notice-c51-740222.html

Cisco only release new features for current supported models, which at the moment are 3504, 5520, 8540, and the vWLC. If you want anything beyond what's in 8.5, you'll need to upgrade to one of those, or potentially any future controllers Cisco release.
