Duration of inactivity and ACTIVATED/DEACTIVATED issue

David.Rudda

Service version: WBS32
Page version:  32.9.3.5

Issue:

1. In the Webex Administration webpage, the reports->common->inactive users will show the "duration of inactivity"
2. In the WebEx Administration webpage, if one manually sets a user to inactive and then to active using the User Manager->Edit User view, this duraction of inactivity appears to get reset.

3. If the Webex XML Api of com.webex.service.binding.user.SetUser is used with:
  <active>DEACTIVATED</active>

And then later with:
  <active>ACTIVATED</active>

Then, the report is run. The duraction of inactivity is still the same and is not reset. The user appears to be actived and deactived using the APIs, but the "duration of inactivity" is not reset.

Questions:
Why does the API not reset the "duration of inactivity" like the website does?
Is there another API approach which does reset the inactivity duration?
Are there other side effects of the "duration of inactivity" not being reset?

Hello,

It seems this report is intended to show whether the user has logged in to the WebEx site in the last ## days. WebEx API does not count towards site activity tracking, as it is not considered a direct use of the WebEx site UI.

As for why deactivating the user resets the timer, I could not say without reviewing design documents for the standard WebEx product. You may try contacting technical support using contact details at https://support.webex.com to verify whether this behavior is by design or the result of a bug.
