Connect 10G-T NIC to Cisco 3850 Multigigabit Switch

Hi all

There are two models in Cisco 3850 - C3850-24XU and C3850-12X48U to provide Multigigabit connection 24 and 12 100Mbps/1/2.5/5 and 10 Gbps connections respectively. So may I know anyone here tried to connect the 10G-T connection in the Server to the Multigigabit ports with a Cat6A cable? Just plug and play and then you will have 10Gbps connections? any trick to make it work?

Best regards

Alex

A multigig 802.3bz NBASE-T rj45 port will negotiate to 10gig with a traditional 802.3an 10G-BASET rj45 port.  The cabling will still have to support it of course.
