Does anyone have a good list of "suggested" rules/guidelines for hosting a WebEx meeting?  Things like, Be sure and mute your line, muted on entry and raise your hand or chat and we'll unmute your line, etc.....

Our trainers teach a 90 minute Webex Producer's Workshop using Webex Events (formerly Event Center) and Webex Training (aka Training Center).  Before offering best practices, they first flush out the purpose of the event. For example:

Attendees:  How many will there be? If you'll have 1,000 attendees, do not open the phone lines under any circumstances.  If you have 50,  then maybe raising a hand and selectively opening lines will work.

Cost:  Will you allow toll free audio?  Will you have international attendees?  Are you OK with an invoice for audio?  If so, open all audio options for ease of use. If cost is a concern, Events and audio broadcasting might be a best practice.

Purpose:  Consider the purpose of the event. Is it to push information, or to pull?  If you want to pull, a best practice may be to conduct some polling, or to secure SMEs to be panelists for the speakers.  If you're pushing information, use engaging, interactive content and multiple voices to keep the audience listening. Use a drop-off URL with a SurveyMonkey link to gather feedback for continuous improvement.

We'd love to see you in class, but in the meantime, I've attached a Producer's Checklist to help you plan for your large event.  Good luck and have fun.
