How to add a new agent to the UCCX Sandbox configuration?

Hello Cisco UCCX experts ,

We would like to add a new, additional agent to the UCCX 11.5 Sandbox configuration along with its phone   – what would be the right steps to perform that?

  1. We have our own SIP softphone that can be presented as some Cisco 79xx phone – what needs to done in the UCCM configuration so our phone could register with it?
  2. We would like to create an agent , associated with that phone   -  what needs to be added to the UCCM/Finesse configuration so  we could control this agent states (login, logout, ready, not ready) via Finesse?  - We can send the REST API commands with our own Virtual Agent Console that can also  receive XMPP notifications from Finesse.

You can access the CUCM administration page here (after you are VPN to the sandbox): https://hq-cucm-pub.abc.inc/

Make sure to fill out the IPCC extension so that it is registered as a UCCX agent. I found this video that might be helpful: uccx agent creation - YouTube

Once it is a UCCX agent, Finesse will know about it and you can control the agent state and use the REST APIs.
