Get current chat window contact information in custom tab in Jabber desktop

Is it possible to build a custom tab for the Jabber desktop client that can pull the current Jabber chat window's contact information?

Something like : document.getElementById("JabberLocale");

but instead: document.getElementById("currentChatContact");

OR an API call like OnTelephonyConversationStateChanged for chats, that lets me know when a user has switched to a different chat  and lets me access the name of the chat

Unfortunately such a capability does not exist at this time.
