Introduction
Cisco Jabber is an iOS application that enables you to handle your work calls using the Internet instead of your mobile service provider. Cisco Jabber is an enterprise client application that requires various backend servers, which Cisco has already pre-configured for testing. Before testing Cisco Jabber, you must first configure the application.
1) Configure VPN in iPhone
Note: Outgoing VPN connections to other organizations might be blocked within Apple's corporate Wi-Fi network. If you encounter any issues with the VPN connection over Apple Wi-Fi, use the 3G network or any non-Apple public or private Wi-Fi networks (home, Starbucks, etc.).
2) Set Up Your Account
Most of the settings will be downloaded and automatically populated once the initial connection to the back-end services are established.
Unified Communications Manager – Account Setup
Enter:
o Device ID: TCTAPP0 (zero) or TCTAPP1 (one)
Note: Assign a different Device ID to each iPhone you configure for testing
o TFTP Server: 10.10.10.12
Desk Phone Integration SetupDesk Phone Integration requires a Cisco Unified IP Phone.
Because you do not have physical access to a Cisco Unified IP Phone,
this optional feature is not enabled.
