Dear all,

this is a community post for customers that have CUCM, as onprem IPPBX and, at same time, use MSFT Teams for messaging.

Please find below a presentation that compares two ''CUCM+MSFT integration'' options:
Direct routing vs Webex app calling integration

In summary:
First option, Direct Routing, is mainly an ''audio interconnect'' between CUCM and MSFT Teams Phone system (via an SBC). You get audio calls between two systems but without any advanced integration features. With this path, you need to maintain two ''PBXs'' : CUCM and MSFT Teams Phone System (plus SBC for interconnect) and this has limited beneftis and several caveats.
Second option, Webex app calling integration with MSFT Teams, is a client-side integration that is easier to deploy and offers great benefits (one ''PBX'' to maintain, presence integration, etc.). Lately it has been greatly enhanced and gained customer interest.

please find more details in attached presentation.
