Finesse supports 2-Way SSL Web Service call ?

hi all,

Currently we have a customer with PCCE 10.5 and they have a question on Finesse making a 2-way SSL Web Service call.

They require Finesse to access and retrieve some info directly from their G-Hub.

The integration to G-Hub is via web services call (2-way SSL) via the GWSx (Government web service server).

My questions are:

1) Can Finesse support 2-way SSL web services calling ?

2) If not supported, alternatively can we implement an application reverse proxy in between Finesse server and GWSx?

Is above a feasible solution, any concerns ?

Hi,

1) Can Finesse support 2-way SSL web services calling?

Finesse does not directly support 2-way SSL web services calling. Finesse has no mechanism to validate or authenticate client-side certificates.

2) Can we implement an application reverse proxy in between Finesse server and GWSx?

A reverse proxy is definitely feasible, assuming that you are trying to host some custom gadgets on the Finesse desktop. If the custom gadget is accessing only the reverse proxy server (via shindig), and the reverse proxy is capable of handling the 2-way SSL with the actual service, then Finesse is good and this deployment model should work.
