The WBS Management functionality that currently resides in in P6 is being replaced with native functionality in Oracle Projects (OP). This is being done because our P6 instance has reached end-of-life, but more importantly, we need to consolidate the P6 data into OP in order to have all the project data in one place. This is in part to fix occasional data discrepancies between the two systems, but especially to prepare for data migration as we move projects from DCP to the new Service Delivery Platform (SDP). Project managers on the current DCP platform will need to use the OP interface temporarily, if they need to create WBS activities, until their projects are migrated to SDP. Migration of in-flight projects to SDP will occur throughout FY21. More details will follow.
