Process for Decommission of ESA 9.1

Hello All,

 

Could anyone please help me the Process to follow, to Decommission our ESA 9.1 Appliance.

Sounds pretty simple then...

 

Point your MX records to something other than the ESA, as well as make sure your internal SMTP servers are no longer relaying through the ESA. Then, check through the ESA/SMA logs to confirm there's zero traffic, and shutdown/de-rack as needed.

Hello,

 

That doesn't really provide much context. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to replace the ESA? Get rid of it entirely? Etc?

The requirement is "Get rid of ESA & SMA entirely".

Sounds pretty simple then...

 

Point your MX records to something other than the ESA, as well as make sure your internal SMTP servers are no longer relaying through the ESA. Then, check through the ESA/SMA logs to confirm there's zero traffic, and shutdown/de-rack as needed.
