users using 7900 series phone are able to use headset and handset.....

I wasn't aware that this was an option, but I have users that say they can use the handset and a headset at the same time on a 7900 series phone.
They use this functionality when training new staff

Can they do the same on an 8800 phone?
If so, how?

use Headset Buddy Cisco Agent Buddy Training Switch | Dual RJ9 Headset Y Splitter Cable (HM-RJ9Cisco. Apparently Handset/Headset  Monitor options  is not available with 8800 phones.
