Hi,

Is it possible to restore a backup from a version 2.2 ISE to a Version 2.6? Or would I neet to upgrade the 2.2 VM/Appliance?

Yes you will be able to take a 2.2 backup straight in to a 2.6 node, 2.6 will accept a backup from 2.1 or newer.

At the same time, if you have not already run the URT while on 2.2, it's possible that differences in the data structure could cause the restore to fail. The data in the backup goes through the same upgrade that it would if you were to upgrade a 2.2 node to 2.6.
