I am not able to config IPS in Cisco packet tracer

Hi All,

I am getting an error in running the configuration command for IPS 

I have no problem till creating a directory name ipsdir

post that not  able to Configure the IPS signature storage location.

Anyone plz help here.

Hello @vinuthatr1996 

   First you need to enable the securityk9 license on your router.

For router c1900

license boot module c1900 technology-package securityk9 

For router c2900

license boot module c2900 technology-package Securityk9

 You need to reload the router

Then, you need to be in "conf t" mode

conf t

Router(config)#ip ips ?

config Location of IPS configuration files

fail Specify what to do during any failures

name Specify an IPS rule

notify Specify the notification mechanisms (SDEE or log) for

the alarms

signature-category Signature Category

signature-definition Signature Definition

I have already enabled the securityk9 on router c2900. 

Created the ipsdir 

Into configuration mode 

Post that configuration command 

Ip ips config location flash:ipsdir

There i m getting ths error

You need to be in conf t you was not

You need to run the command

conf t

  ip ips ....
