I've having an issue where my core L3 Switches receive two different routes from a router with a backup VPN connection and a primary private WAN connection. L3SW1 gets it route from the FW via the VPN connection between the FW and RTR1 and L3SW2 gets it route from RTR1 via the private WAN. If I disable ospf on the tunnel on the FW, L3SW1 gets the correct route from L3SW2. I tried changing the metrics to make the weight of the L3SW2 route preferred but that didn't work. Any ideas?
Show Route Outputs:
With OSPF Enabled on VPN:
10.1.195.0/24 (type-1)(R) area 0.0.0.11
via 2.2.2.2/Vlan11 , cost 65576 distance 110 (NHR)
Without OSPF Enabled on VPN:
10.1.195.0/24 (type-1)(R) area 0.0.0.0
via 1.1.1.1/Vlan12 , cost 81 distance 110 (NHR)

Use OSPF different process in router and redistribute the prefix this make inter-area prefer than External

I'm a bit confused by your description and topology graphic.
Where is 10.1.195.0/24? What interface(s) and area?
Rtr1 has connections to both areas 42 and 11 but not zero?
I'm wondering if you're seeing an intra-area route taking precedence over an inter-area route.

I probably should have put that IP actually on the graphic...10.1.195.0/24 resides on RTR1 as an Internal interface on G0/0/0. Rtr1 G0/0/1 resides on Area0 with IP 1.1.1.1 and the VPN Tunnel interface is 10.0.3.2/30. The Firewall is 2.2.2.2.
Area 0 only resides on the L3Switches and 11 is VPN and 42 is Private WAN.
I think you may be correct about Intra-area route vs Inter-area route. But how do I get around that or can I get around that?

That pointed me in the right direction. Thanks!

we need to see the config of RTR1, there are two area 11 & 42
are you advertise the prefix via area 42 ?
