Hi Team,
I am in the process of configuring Cisco Ethernet Switches (IE3x00 Rugged Sefor the project and would like to know do we have to leave the memory card inserted during /after setup process. If not then ,Can it be used just to take the backup and restore whenever the hardware fails? It would be great if I get to know the reason if I have to leave the card inserted. (As currently I am being suggested to insert the card before I power up the switch for the first time)
Thank you

That depends on how the switch(es) is/are deployed.
IE3k are mostly deployed in "challenging" condition/location. Because of this, an SD card inserted would save time and money if someone accidentally deleted the OS of the switch or a corrupted flash.
