QSFP port to run 40G and 100G in a same chassis

Hi All

would like ask if the switch with QSFP port, data sheet saying it is support 40G/100G, can it support both mode in the same chassis as the same time, or we need to select either one mode at one time?

i am talking on catalyst 9500 switch, and/or nexus 9336
