I am installing 8 IP security cameras in our youth center, all are POE. We do have plans to expand to more cameras in the future for outdoor coverage. We currently have a 24 port switch (not POE) that we will be replacing, and I am either using a computer with software to record, or a network recorder, whichever is more reliable and still affordable.
Which POE switch should I be looking at for this application?

What model is the current switch?

Is you're looking to replace with same brand (which I'm not familiar with).. suggest you contact your sales rep.
Look for PoE (15W per port), if cost is an issue and verify with camera vendor on required power.. otherwise, go with PoE+ (30W per port)
If you're looking at Cisco brand.. any model will suffice, as long as it has PoE+
(again, if cost is a factor, PoE (15W) should be able to handle most cameras.. check with vendor to confirm.
