UCCX Upgrade from 8.5 to 11.5

Hi,

We are planning to upgrade our UC environment including CUCM, CUC and UCCX. i have following question regarding UCCX upgrade. Can someone please help b answering these question. Thank you in advanced.

current version:  8.5.1.11004-25. as we cannot go to 11.5 directly, first we will upgrade it to 10.6(1)SU2 and then 11.5. current servers are on VM and the new servers will be on VM as well.

Question 1: when we upgrade the current UCCX 8.5.1.11004-25 to 10.6(1) SU2, do i need to change the Network Adaptor type to VMXNET 3 before upgrade it to 10.6. i know to upgrade it from 10.6 to 11.5 i need to but not sure about 8.5 to 10.6.

and how to change it to VMXNET 3 for UCCX server? for CUCM and CUC, need to go to VMX file and add the line "ethernet0.virtualDev = "vmxnet3"". is it same for UCCX as well?

It is a ESXi6.5 server, and the current NIC type in my VM showing-"AMD Lance PCNET 32". i know some people say their current Nic type is Flexible. but i don't know why my VM is not showing flexible, do you think it can be an issue?

Question 2:

Please note current number of users is 100 but when we upgrade it to 11.5 we will need 150 users. for 150 users we will need 2 vDisk. 146gb each when we just have 1in current 8.5 UCCX. As cisco suggest, we need to upgrade 8.5 to 10.6 with one drive (we cannot add another vDisk before upgrade to 10.6, as that may cause partition issue). then build a new 10.6 server with OVA template (with 2 vDisk) and take the back up from upgraded server (upgrade to 10.6) and restore the backup to the newly build 10.6 server and then upgrade this newly build server to 11.5. is it a right way to do it?
