Upload the Script to Datastore

1. Browse to any Datastore of ESXi Host
2. Upload the folder "lsigetvmware_022817"
    ex. Suppose the datastore name is "Datastore3"

Run the Commands

   Enable SSH of ESXi Host

   SSH to ESXi using a client like putty

   Login using root credentials.

 

Just copy and paste the below commands to run in root. A tar.gz file will be generated
     cd /vmfs/volumes/Datastore3/lsigetvmware_022817
     chmod 744 lsigetlunix.sh
      ./lsigetlunix.sh -D -Q

Download the log

Browse to Datastore and go to folder lsigetvmware_022817

Download log file named as <lsixxxxx.tar.gz> in the folder

The files can be deleted now Delete "lsigetvmware_022817" from Storage "Datastore3"

 

Note: This helps to save time in unnecessary SFTP access and pushing files and running many commands.

Using the above steps helps unnecessary file transfer using SFTP in secure network and use of commands is limited.

 

Note: lsigetvmware_022817 folder has been zipped. The file needs to be unzipped into a folder before performing above steps.
