NIM E-Series NCE, not booting VMWare hypervisor

Hello,

My question is about a a NIM E-Series NCE which doesn't boot a VMWare hypervisor.

First of all, a few things which look abnormal to me.
On the NIM E-Series NCE, I get this:

EN140N-FOC22022YY0# scope chassis
EN140N-FOC22022YY0 /chassis # show hdd detail
Name HDD1_PRS:
    Status : removed
Name HDD2_PRS:
    Status : removed

It doesn't look like it is normal, does it?

Also, in the CIMC GUI, the "Storage" tab is empty and below is the screen capture for CIMC -> Server -> Inventory -> Storage Adapters tab.
Note the "null" word.

I can't see the SD card anywhere.

The server is not booting on the VMWare hypervisor my license being FL-UCSE-VS6-HYP.

Can you help me?
Best regards.

If your trying to boot from SD card, you should check the "Storage" tab for Flexflash cards.

Have you installed ESXi before?

Also check your boot order under "BIOS" and ensure the HV partition is listed.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer.

Wes Austin> If your trying to boot from SD card, you should check the "Storage" tab for Flexflash cards.

The "Storage" tab is empty (see image below 2.1). I don't see the word "Flexflash" anywhere.

No, I have not.
Supposedly, with license FL-UCSE-VS6-HYP, the VMWare ESXi hypervisor should have been installed at factory, I was told.

Wes Austin> Also check your boot order under "BIOS" and ensure the HV partition is listed.

I'm not sure how to do that.

I do not see anything like "HV partition".

Below, some info that may answer your question.

EN140N-FOC22022YY0# scope bios
EN140N-FOC22022YY0 /bios # show detail
BIOS:
BIOS Version: "UCSEN.1.5.0.3 (Build Date: 09/02/2015)"
    Boot Order: HDD:SSD
    FW Update/Recovery Status: None, OK
Active BIOS on next reboot: main

Based on that screen capture, you likely need to boot to the P0: UBAXXXX device, which is the USB controller.

I would recommend contacting you re-seller or opening a TAC case for further assistance if the hypervisor should have been installed.

Based on the Getting Started Guides for UCS-E series, it looks like hypervisor installation is a requirement.

Maybe we can try booting on another boot device?

Thanks.

I do not see any other devices available based on the information you provided. There are no Local HDD and there are no Flexflash SD cards.

The references of the products are UCS-EN140N-M2/K9=?B and FL-UCSE-VS6-HYP=?B
The first one includes a 50GB SSD HDD.
There definitely is a SD card too...

Thank you for you help.

Hello.

I can't say for sure and for now.

My supplier told me the VMWare hypervisor hadn't been installed.

Supposedly, they will supply me with it soon.
