Yes If I replace R1 which is IOSv with a Nexus it works . I was saying I think it is an issue with IOSv in CML

at the moment R1 is learning the RP from R2 so it should work . I just think it is an issue with CML . I took a packet capture and I dont see the Register message being sent by R1 when the source start transmitting

@hunnufisher : exactly as you said , the source will start transmitting to a mcast group and then it is up to the network to deliver the stream . there is no signalling between source and first hop router
